Carbon Refractories for Blast Furnace

STEEL products are essential to people's lives. Among steelworks, Blast Furnace which produces the iron source of Steel is said to be the Symbol of the steelworks, and Carbon Blocks for the hearth bottom of Blast Furnace is one of the most important area to achieve long life campaign of the Furnace. Although Blast Furnace life campaign is 15 to 25 years, further improvement of functions expansion, high tapping rate, stable operation, and long campaign life is still required.
To meet these requirements, we NDK have developed “Micropore Carbon Series”. Especially “Super Micropore Carbon” which was developed using NDK’s original manufacturing Method, prevents hot metal infiltration and succeeded in surpassing quality of conventional carbon block products. NDK is now widely recognized by customers all around the world as the “Only One Brand”.
Responding to costumer’s request, in recent years, new products with additional properties such as high thermal conductivity function and self-protection function based on Super Micropore Carbon Blocks have been developed. Also we have been working on various un-shaped refractory materials used around carbon blocks, Technology of large sized blocks production to shorten construction time, etc.

Ferroalloys Production Carbon Refractories for Electric Furnace

Raw materials that support daily life, such as ferroalloys that turn iron into steel, carbides that are raw material of the organic chemical industry, and fertilizers for agriculture, are produced by Electric Furnaces (Sub-Merged Arc Furnace). Carbon is also used for the lining material of the electric furnace.
We will continue to support the operation of Electric Furnaces based on our manufacturing technology acquired over the many years in Blast Furnaces for steelmaking and the optimal quality design proposals for each application.
We also provide Carbon Electrode paste used in these Electric Furnaces, and are customized to the finely required characteristics of each customer. We have many achievements especially in large size of Electric Furnaces.
